The Witcher Showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich's Loki Love Got Us Thinking

Starting off on a quick side note, we completely forgot that The Witcher executive producer, writer, and showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich was also an executive producer and writer on The Umbrella Academy ("Man on the Moon," and "I Heard a Rumor" with Sneha Koorse) so we're flicking ourselves behind our ears to attune. Speaking of Hissrich, we think it's important that Witcher viewers know that even when she's not working, she's working. Case-in-point: even while enjoying another screening of Thor: Ragnarok, Hissrich took to social media to make it known that she's a big fan of Tom Hiddleston's Loki.

How big? We'll let the tweets below speak for themselves, but we would be lying if we said it didn't throw a whole bunch of gasoline on my brain's dumpster fire of speculation. While it's also possible she could be talking about having a version of the "god of mischief" on the series (anything's possible with…imagination!), we're thinking maybe it's one of two things. First thought: Hissrich's floating the idea of having Hiddleston involved with the second season to see how fans react. Second thought: Hissrich possibly involved with Disney+'s upcoming live-action Loki series from Marvel Studios. Of course, there's always the "ripcord" option: that we're reading way to much into what was meant to be two fun, complimentary tweets.

Netflix's The Witcher season 2 welcomes Kristofer Hivju (Game of Thrones) as Nivellen, Kim Bodnia (Killing Eve) as Vesemir, Yasen Atour (Young Wallender) as Coen, Agnes Bjorn as Vereena, Paul Bullion (Peaky Blinders) as Lambert, Thue Ersted Rasmussen (Fast and Furious 9) as Eskel, Aisha Fabienne Ross (The Danish Girl) as Lydia, and newcomer Mecia Simson as Francesca. Stephen Surjik (Netflix's The Umbrella Academy) has been tapped to direct the season's first two episodes, with Sarah O'Gorman (Cursed) directing the third and fourth episodes, Ed Bazalgette (The Last Kingdom) directing the 5th and 8th episodes, and Geeta Patel (Meet the Patels) will direct the 6th and 7th episodes.
