Avengers: X-Sanction From Jeph Loeb And Ed McGuinness

We made a guess this morning that this big new Avengers/X-Men Marvel thing could be whatever had been teased at San Diego Comic Con as coming from Jeph Loeb and Ed McGuinness under the title Cable Reborn.

And looky looky.

Avengers: X-Sanction is a new four issue miniseries from Jeph Loeb and Ed McGuinness starting in December, being revealed on Marvel's live blog, intended to set the stage for MArvel's stories through 2012. Here are some excerpts;

"How Cable survived Second Coming and what his responsibility is to his daughter, Hope, may have something to do with the Avengers." -Jeph Loeb

"This story puts Cable in a situation where he's surrounded by and dealing with characters he doesn't normally. It's not just another story with Cable and the X-Men." -Tom Brevoort

"The idea of Cable as a man out to protect his daughter by any means necessary gives the character an emotional heft and underlines everything he does. It's richly fulfilling." -Tom Brevoort

"Ed can draw the big powerful moments and the quiet stuff too. He can't just play the bass drum, he can play the melody as well. Jeph is open to not only hearing my ideas, but making them better than I ever thought they could be.

"What Cable is up to is not something that can be done quietly. It will raise the interest of some pretty important people and leaders in the X-Men community will have to step in at some point in the storyline." -Jeph Loeb
