We Need a Better Name for Virgin Comic Books

Comic book reader and collector Chris Wildman posted a warning on Facebook, saying;

O.K. WARNING. Watch talking about comic books around people that don't know you are talking about comic books. Mid conversation.

"If you get them with trade DRESS, they are not as much. Not as much as VIRGINS. Most virgins cost way more. Some newer ones, only like 10 or 15 years old can be even better than ones 40 or 50 years old and cost way more. It all depends on what condition you get them in. Of course the ones graded a 9.8 cost more than a 4.5."

This is when my supervisor pulled me aside and asked me what the hell I was talking about. I said, COMIC BOOKS. He thought I was talking about getting young girls through illegal sex trade.

He does have a point… Ever since collectors started calling comic books published with the cover art unencumbered by logos, titles or credits as 'virgin' covers (see below), something like this was going to happen. Can we please come up with another name? It can sound really, really creepy… and just waiting to be a joke on the Big Bang Theory.
