It's always fun to find new comic books launching from relatively new talents in the latest Diamond Previews. Buddy Beaudoin is best known in comics as a letterer for comics such as Gatchaman, DC Power, Villains Seeking Hero, Crash & Troy and the like. He has also been writing a comic called Corvus, and two years ago sent out a pitch packet for the comic book.
Well, it looks like Dead Sky Publishing picked it up, and now Corvus #1 drawn by Christopher Sassman and coloured by Allison Hu is in their 2024 solicits and solicitations listings. Dead Sky Publishing, along with its Death's Head Press imprint, publishes work that they state is "inherently dark across a spectrum of genres and formats. From non-fiction to memoirs, from comic books to novels, from art books and photography books to short story collections." And now Corvus, a comic book about a video arcade employee who gets recruited by aliens, like a R-rated version of The Last Starfighter.
Christopher Sassman was the artist on the kaiju post-apocalyptic comic Territory, and Allison Hu has previously worked on comics such as Grimm Tales from the Cave, Transfer, Untitled Generic Space Comedy and Dark Blood.
