Critical Role: Vox Machina Origins IV #1 created in consultation with Matthew Mercer and the rest of the cast of Critical Role, written by Jody Houser with art by Noah Hayes, colours by Diana Sousa, letters by Ariana Maher, and cover art by Alicia Sánchez. "Vox Machina is tasked to investigate the whereabouts of Sir Fince after his disappearance, and after some poking and prodding, clues lead the team to a mysterious basement. What dark surprises await our heroes in the bowels of his homestead? "I'm excited to head back to Exandria and continue the adventure alongside Vox Machina," said Houser. Critical Role starting as a roleplaying game between celebrity voiceover friends Matthew Mercer, Ashley Johnson, Marisha Ray, Taliesin Jaffe, Travis Willingham, Sam Riegel, Laura Bailey and Liam O'Brien playing Dungeons & Dragons in front of a camera. And has published work from Frank Miller, John Byrne, Mike Miognola, Sergio Aragones, Yoshitaka Amano, Margaret Atwood, Brian Michael Bendis, Paul Chadwick, Geof Darrow, Colleen Doran, Janet Evanovich, Neil Gaiman, Dave Gibbons, Geof Darrow, Faith Erin Hicks, Kazuo Koike, Matt Kindt, Jeff Lemire, Kentaro Miura, Moebius, Chuck Palahniuk, Eric Powell, Stan Sakai, and Gerard Way, as well as Will Eisner, Jack Kirby, Steve Ditko, and Richard Corben. The company originated work such as Sin City, 300, The Mask, Hellboy and Concrete, and has published comics based on properties such as Star Wars, Stranger Things, Avatar: The Last Airbender, The Legend of Korra, Minecraft, The Legend of Zelda, Super Mario, Dragon Age, James Cameron's Avatar, Game of Thrones, Mass Effect, The Witcher, and Halo. Dark Horse established an entertainment division in 1989, including movies such as The Mask and TimeCop, The Umbrella Academy on Netflix and Resident Alien on SyFy.  In 2022, Dark Horse Media, LLC was established as the parent company of all three divisions, and became part of Embracer Group AB.
