One More Clue to the Bandaged Figure in Dark Nights: Metal (Spoilers)
In the Dark Knights: Batman Who Laughs, the Batman Who Laughs narrates his origin and deal with Barbatos to a mysterious hurt, bandaged and injured individual, who it appears he has brought with him.
There are few clues to this individual's identity, save that the figure is worthy of address by this Joker-twisted version of Bruce Wayne.
And there are many fan theories as to who this figure may be. This Batman's version of Alfred? Is it Hawkman, who has played the game before? Billy Batson (unable to say "shazam"? Madama Xanadu (because of the cards)? Duke Thomas? There are plenty of theories.
But today's Metal spinoff, Dark Knights Rising: The Wild Hunt by Scott Snyder, James TynionIV, Joshua Williamson, Grant Morrison, Howard Porter, Jorge Jimenez, Doug Mahnke and Jamie Mendoza gives you a couple more clues.
Cosmic eyelids? Is this figure a cosmic being? Or is that a figure of speech?
Here, the character may be intended to be black. Could that mean it's this Joker's version of Duke Thomas? One who stayed a Robin in that world – and you know what Jokers do to Robins?
Or with the anti-Monitor bias the series has been showing, then Monitor Nix Uotan of Earth-51 may be a more likely prospect… the judge of all evil…
