Taylor Lautner To Star In Future Prison Fantasy Incarceron
Fresh from the latest Twilight movie, Taylor Lautner has signed on to star in another film designed to appeal to his appreciative young female audience. Deadline has announced Lautner's attachment to Incarceron, an adaptation of Catherine Fisher's novel for young people which is being produced by Wolverine's team of Hugh Jackman and John Palermo.
According to Deadline:
Lautner will play Finn, who has lived his entire life on Incarceron, a savage, futuristic prison society. He meets the daughter of the warden, who is trapped in her own prison, a futuristic world constructed beautifully to look like the 17th Century. She knows nothing of Incarceron except that it exists. She and Finn simultaneously find a crystal key that allows them to communicate and hatch an escape plan for Finn.
As yet, no other roles (including that of the director) have been given out although, no doubt, competition will be fierce to fill the shoes of Claudia, the warden's daughter. Trapped in her beautiful and romantic prison, she awaits rescue from the rough and savage Lautner. This film, if one could care, raises the issue of whether it matters what kind of message film makers are giving to their young audiences.
