The German Nick SimmonsAs the Nick Simmons case over swiping Bleach, Hellsing and DeviantArt pages for his Incarnate comic hits the headlines, a similar case is kicking off in Germany.

Helene Hegemann, like Nick, is the child of a famous figure – in this case German playwright Carl Hegemann.

Ages 17, she's written the book Axolotl Roadkill. Which seems to contain material ripped from blog posts, song lyrics and various other material. Her defence has been "Originality doesn't exist anyway, there's only authenticity."

And just as with Nick Simmons, there's a handy dandy guide to all those swipes. In German, obviously but you can always let Google take the strain.

And at least she's not wearing a silly scarf.
