South Park: The Stick Of Truth Story DLC Could Come, But It Is Not Likely

South-Park-The-Stick-of-Truth

It's no secret that the development of South Park: The Stick Of Truth was troubled. On top of THQ going under at a crucial time for the game, there have always been rumors about the title straining behind the scenes. Matt Stone and Trey Parker worked incredibly hard on the game providing a huge script and all the voice work, and they are obviously incredibly busy guys.

Could we be getting more though? I think a whole new game is out of the question, but what of DLC? Well, it turns out that isn't that likely either, but it isn't impossible. Polygon (via VG247) interviewed Obsidian Entertainment CEO Feargus Urquhart, and he dove into the possibility. He stated that he believes Ubisoft and South Park are done, but that the developer is reaching out to see what could still happen with The Stick of Truth.

Urquhart did admit though:

I don't know what that could be. We had always talked about it, extending the story through DLC, it was just stuff on paper, but it never went beyond talking about it.

That was when THQ was involved. When it moved to Ubisoft, there was more pressure to get [the game] done. I think that became the priority, so we got it done.

One of the big hurdles for more content is that tumultuous development. The CEO confided that Matt Stone was doing stuff every day for the game towards the end of its development, and everyone involved was working incredibly hard.

The South Park team did an immense amount of work on the game.

After all of the stress of the game getting done and changing publishers, I think everyone (The developers) sort of needed a hug.

I'd love to see more content for the title as it is obviously made with a lot of quality, I just really doubt it will come together. Getting Stone and Parker back to write even more would definitely be a hard sell.
