Take A Trip To The DC Elseworlds In The First Trailer For Batman: Gotham By Gaslight

The DC animated universe has hit a few stumbling points in their recent releases. Some of them have been borderline terrible, which is surprising for a section of the company that used to be considered untouchable. They're looking to change all of that with their next feature and do something a little different with Batman: Gotham by Gaslight and IGN has the first trailer.

This is the first time we've really delved into the DC Elseworlds part of the comics for a movie and more and more animated movies are getting the R treatment so they knew now was the time to do this story. The creators have mentioned that they've had to add a significant amount of content. However, the movie itself looks to get that awesome gothic feeling that the comic had. Put me down for "very interested" in this one.

In an alternative Victorian Age Gotham City, Batman begins his war on crime while he investigates a new series of murders by Jack the Ripper.

Bathman: Gotham by Gaslight, directed by Sam Liu, stars Bruce Greenwood, Jennifer Carpenter, and Anthony Head. It will be out on home release in 2018.
