Power Book II: Ghost Nets September Debut, Key Art; Teaser This Sunday
For fans of STARZ's Power, it's been a bit of "good news/bad news" rollercoaster ride over the past few months. In February, the original series ended its run on, going out on top after six seasons the way the series creators wanted it to end. But as the fans were mourning their loss, the cable network dried their tears with news that out of the ashes of the series would come four spinoff series. Then, the COVID-19 pandemic hit and shit down television productions across the pop culture landscape. As Hollywood looks to adjust to new health and safety protocols to get the cameras rolling again, fans received some good news from series franchise creator Courtney A. Kemp: Power Book II: Ghost is on track for a September 2020 premiere. To mark the occasion, Kemp posted a new key art poster for the series and revealed that a teaser will be making its way onto STARZ App on Sunday:
Power Book II: Ghost is a modern-day sequel focusing on Michael Rainey Jr.'s Tariq, starring Mary J. Blige as successful businesswoman Monet, Method Man as an attorney with questionable ethics named David MacClean, and LaToya Tonodeo as Monet's daughter. Naturi Naughton's Tasha and Shane Johnson's Cooper Saxe are also set to make the move from the original series. Series franchise creator Courtney A. Kemp will be producing the series spinoffs through her End of Episode banner, alongside Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson through G-Unit Film and Television and Mark Canton through Atmosphere Entertainment MM. Shana Stein and Bart Wenrich, and Chris Salek and Danielle DeJesus via End of Episode also executive produce. Lionsgate TV serves as the producing studio.
