Fables And Walking Dead To Be Downloadable Games
It's reached a hundred issues, it's spun off into numerous series and books, it's even got a superhero team, and there's word of a TV series.
And now Bill Willingham's Fables comic from Vertigo is to be a video game.
Telltale Games has got the exclusive license, as well as the license to Robert Kirkman's The Walking Dead, already a successful TV series.
Fables also has a TV series in the works, and this development may well help the production process.
Telltale are probably best known for the Monkey Island games but they had quite an innovative way to tackle Bone as an online downloadable game, which made a strength of staying as close to the original comics narrative as possible. They specialise in games that are downloaded in bits and, as PC download games now outsell boxed retail games, it does look the kind of area to bring big names into.
Their aim, for Walking Dead to hit the one million download number, is certainly an impressive one…
