Saguaro – Sergio Bonelli Editore's First New Ongoing Series For An Age

Saguaro – Sergio Bonelli Editore's First New Ongoing Series For An AgeFor the last few years, the only brand new material Italian publisher Sergio Bonelli Editore have published have been mini-series.

But now, a month after the death of Sergio Bonelli, the publisher that still bears his name is to start a new ongoing comic book, entitled Saguaro. Written by Disney Comics Italy writer Bruno Enna, it will tell the story of a federal agent who looks after Native American reservations. Set in the seventies, the comic is named after a southern Arizonan cactus. The first arc will be drawn by Fabio Valdambrin.

For a company that has certainly published a fair few traditional Western comics over the years, including the 60+ year running Tex Weller, this is a bit of a twist on the genre.

Looks like it's a brave new frontier for Sergio Bonelli Editore. Saguaro starts next year.
