As Marvel announce the return of Kitty Pryde in Uncanny X-Men 522, last seen saving the Earth by permanently phasing herself and the massive bullet she was trapped inside so it passed through the Earth and continued into deep space (I know my Kitty), variant cover artist Mark Brooks breaks down how he arrived at the cover that's somewhat a mixture of Dr Strangelove's climactic scene and good girl art on the side of fifties bombers.
