Speculators Notice M.Rex. Three Issues, Eight Covers.
As of Friday morning, there were plenty of issues of M.Rex, the 2003 Image comic book that listed three isues (two if you don't count the preview) on eBay. All of them listed from around 99 cents. And not selling. There hadn't been a sale for at least a month,
Then Bleeding Cool pointed out that the comic was the first appearance of the new hit animation on Cartoon Network, Generator X, which has already smashed a number of launch records.
And the speculators sat up.
Issue 1, which previously couldn't sell for 99 cents, has just hit $5.25, the three issues for $7.50. Small change for now. But this looks like a builder. People are buying cheap copies to get them off the market. Once they're gone, expect them to return, listed with Generator X in the title.
So, for those who are frantically hunting through your longboxes, here's what you should be looking out for.
M-Rex Preview, Issue 1, Issue 1 Variant, Issue 1 Exclusive, Issue 1 Tour Edition, Issue 2, Issue 2 Dynamic Forces Variant, Issue 2 Dynamic Forces Variant Gold…
What the value on these books will be by the end of the week I couldn't tell you. But if you do see any in the 99c bins of your local shop, fill your books.
