Two issues in one month? Hell yes! As the Marvel Universe reels from the events of the first issue, Tony Stark decides to take matters (and the law) into his own hands and declares war on the Inhumans. But not everyone agrees with Tony's perspective and they are willing to die trying to stop him.
40 PGS./Rated T+ …$4.99
This is how Civil War II: Choosing Sides #1 was solicited, coming out at the same time.
CIVIL WAR II: CHOOSING SIDES #1 (OF 6)
DECLAN SHALVEY, BRANDON EASTON, CHAD BOWERS & CHRIS SIMS (W)
DECLAN SHALVEY, GORAN SUDZUKA & LEONARDO ROMERO (A)
If you knew something bad was about to happen, would you stop it? How far would you go? The line is drawn. Everyone in the Marvel Universe has to ask themselves: are you with Captain Marvel or Iron Man? Kicking off an all-new series, this first issue features Nick Fury, Damage Control and Night Thrasher!
40 PGS./Rated T+ …$4.99
But 40 pages for $3.99. Now we all know that's not actually 40 story pages, that includes ads, recap pages and the like.
Civil War II #2 has 22 story pages for $4.99. 23 cents a page.
Civil War II: Choosing Sides #1 has 30 story pages for $4.99. 17 cents a page.
This makes Civil War II #2 work out at 23 cents a page, while Civil War II: Choosing Sides #1 is 17 cents a page.
This also compares to Civil War II #1 had 38 story pages for $5.99, 16 cents a page.
It's one thing to increase the price of a comic, when the contents have increased considerably. But if Civil War II is the pattern for the remaining five issues, will people put up with this?
Probably.
