Richard Starkings's 'Elephantmen' To End With #80 In December
In 2010, when talking to CBR about his comic book series Elephantmen that has just hit issue 25, Richard Starkings told them:
"I sometimes throw out issue #80 as an issue number that seems far enough away to be a good endpoint, but here at #25, I sometimes feel like I've barely scratched the surface. There will be at least eleven collections, one for every letter in the title of the book -Â check the spines of the trades, kids! If their are more stories to tell, I may switch to doing a series of miniseries much like Mignola does on "Hellboy" and "B.P.R.D." But it's hard to see that far ahead. It's still challenging for me to write each issue, and I enjoy that."
Well, December 2017 is rolling right round with issue 80 of Elephantmen, and it sees the final issue of the long-running anthropological sci-fi noir series. Only Spawn, Savage Dragon, and The Walking Dead have clocked up more issues at the publisher.
