What Buffy The Vampire Slayer Did Next, Revealed in Final Dark Horse Comic (Spoilers)
The TV series may have finished after season 7. But the comic book version of Buffy The Vampire Slayer continued, with a number of seasons, some longer than a year. The twelfth season was a lot shorter, merely four issues long, entitled The Reckoning.
Why? Because Buffy owners Fox decided to give the license to their own comic book publisher, Boom Studios. And Dark Horse had to bring things to a close.
But it has provided an ending for the Buffy comic book saga, that took the TV show and went worldwide, into the far future and back again, as characters returned, transformed, came out, had sex and killed lots of people. And the final issue, published today, even saw the likes of the Mayor of Sunnydale who became a giant monster, revived for one last slaying.
But what of Buffy? And what of Faith? Well in the final scenes, we see where Buffy and Faith are, in preparation to join the official police Supernatural Division. But first? They have to go to Police Academy.
And there is a crossover we never knew we wanted. Even as Buffy The Vampire Slayer is to be rebooted for the TV, is there room for a film in a continuity of its own, Police Academy 8: Slaying 'Em In The Aisles or some such…?
Buffy The Vampire Slayer Season 12: The Reckoning #4 is published by Dark Horse Comics today.
