Christopher Priest at the Marvel Writers Summit… and Jonathan Hickman?

So Marvel Comics had a writers summit last week. Usually attended by Marvel writers who have an exclusive contract (or are about to get one) with the publisher, with the aim of shaping the upcoming Marvel Comics line.

Attended by the likes of newly exclusive writer Kelly Thompson.

And Margaret Stohl

As well as Gerry Duggan, Joe Quesada, and Skottie Young

And the relatively recently exclusive Matthew Rosenberg tweeting the photographic evidence.

As again taken by Gerry Duggan with Matthew Rosenberg, Dan Slott and… Christopher Priest. Who is writing for DC's Deathstroke and Justice League, as well as the recent Inhumans: Judgement Day. And it seems may have more Marvel Comics plans. With Scott Snyder replacing him on Justice League with the Justice Lost storyline, could he be more available right now? And going all-in with Marvel?

Maybe not. Exceptions can be made, and I understand Priest just happened to be in town, and CCO Joe Quesada invited him to pop by.

Rules can change. As Rosenberg tweeted this photo from the meal by Duggan, only to delete it this morning…

Christopher Priest at the Marvel Writers Summit… and Jonathan Hickman?

Joe Quesada again, Skottie Young and… Jonathan Hickman! Growing his hair out!

Hickman having a Big Two project was an issue of discussion last year, after doing creator-owned comics for so long. He had lunched with DC Comics co-publisher Jim Lee.  Senior Marvel exec Tom Brevoort had teased a return of Hickman to Marvel. But DC Comics also made an offer. Where would the chips fall? Well, under the table after the Marvel Writers Summit, it seems.

He could also have just been popping by…

Roll the video with Ryan Penagos.

This was newly appointed Editor-In-Chief C.B. Cebulski's first such summit, and no one did anything as childish as try to change his name tag. And they showed off the cover to Invincible Iron Man #600, the first without Brian Michael Bendis. But yes, Priest, Ed Brisson, Sana Amanat, Jordan White, Margaret Stohl, Skottie Young, Gerry Duggan… who else do you spy? And had Tom Brevoort nipped out to the bathroom?

Anyone else unexpected spotted?
