DC Rebirth Tops Advance Reorders But Briggs Land Makes A Strong Landing
Greetings from the coal face of the direct comics market. Where retailers try to increase their orders of certain comics ahead of sale. Where supply and demand and most accurately reflected, where you can see which books are hot, where new orders are coming in and how retailers are reacting to new, unanticipated desire!
The Suicide Squad movie may be driving retailers to up orders on that Rebirth title, but Supergirl is doing pretty well and both beating out Civil War II in these stakes. But Briggs Land is probably the surprise, aftr Brian Wood announced at San Diego Comic-Con that the Dark Horse comic had been sold to AMC and he was writing the pilot episode. We announced that confirmation at San Diego Comic-Con and the orders seem to be as a direct result of that news. It's also good news for DC throughout the chart – and The Killing Joke has seen another spate of orders as a result of the new film. And strong performances for both the second issues of Horizon and Black Hammer based on sales of the first.
