Magic's Biggest Secrets Finally Revealed in This Wonder Twins #5 Preview
Not since 1997's Breaking the Magician's Code: Magic's Biggest Secrets Finally Revealed has a magician so flagrantly betrayed the mystery of their craft, but in this preview of next week's Wonder Twins #5, Scrambler does his best to top that scandalous production. It begins when Filo Math finds Scrambler waiting for him in his home and asks about his origins in the League of Annoyance…
It's then that Scrambler reveals the basic structure of a magic trick, not from the mechanics of the trick itself, but the psychology behind it…
He continues…
And then explains that magic is really about people's craving for normalcy (good luck these days).
Deeper philosophy than one might expect in an all-ages Wonder Twins comic? Maybe you've been missing out.
Wonder Twins #5 hits stores on Wednesday.
h/t Adventures in Poor Taste for the preview.
Wonder Twins #5 (of 6)
(W) Mark Russell (A/CA) Stephen Byrne
The much-talked-about and always-topical take on the Wonder Twins continues from irreverent and witty writer Mark Russell and artist Stephen Byrne, who captures both the humor and the heart of the siblings, exiled to Earth and interning for the Justice League. A battle royal between minor-league heroes and villains ends in tragedy and a horrifying revelation, teaching the world the true price of not taking people seriously. Always-hopeful Zan and cynical Jayna confront how circumstance (more than intent) often determines who's labeled a hero or villain.
