Marvel Creators Debate New York vs. Chicago Pizza Before Hickman Announcement at C2E2

Marvel pandering to Chicagoans as if their terrible form of pizza can possibly compete with actual New York pizza before making an announcement about Jonathan Hickman writing an X-Men comic seems totally appropriate somehow. So it's no surprise that this is the way the House of Ideas opened the Next Big Thing panel at C2E2 on Saturday this way.

Your mileage may vary, of course. I know people love them some Hickman, for whatever reason, just like people inexplicably like that sad excuse for a tomato pie. And on the bright side, Hickman did say he likes Cyclops. Maybe there could be something to this after all?

But wait, what were we here to talk about again? Oh yeah: pizza.

Bleeding Cool ace reporter Brian Lake was on hand at the panel, and he captured footage of the video which you can view below. Of course, the big news coming out of this panel was the formal announcement of the 12 weeks of Hickman X-books, House of X and Powers of X, which Bleeding Cool already spoiled for you. Plus Absolute Carnage, which was already revealed at the retailer breakfast. Jason Aaron is writing a Valkyrie comic too. And there's one more super-mega-crossover event queued up for December, to tie up all the loose ends of the rest of the year's super-mega-crossover event.

Stay tuned to Bleeding Cool for more breaking news from C2E2, and enjoy the video below.

A prophecy once said that in the comic book industry's darkest days, a hero would come to lead the people through a plague of overpriced floppies, incentive variant covers, #1 issue reboots, and super-mega-crossover events. Sadly, that prophecy was wrong. Oh, Jude Terror was right. For ten years. About everything. But nobody listened. And so, Jude Terror has moved on to a more important mission: turning Bleeding Cool into a pro wrestling dirt sheet!
