Did Nancy Drew's Father Murder The Hardy Boys' Father? A Comic Book Investigation
Anthony Del Col's Kill Shakespeare comic made a habit of killing off some of literary's finest figures and then desecrating the reputation of another such figure as the murderer in question. Well, now he's doing it to Nancy Drew, too.
Nancy Drew is one of the most popular female literary characters in America. Not only does she solve crimes in her small Midwest town, but she and her father are very close and are pillars of their community.
But now Nancy is realizing her father may not be the man she thought he was.
The sixth issue of the new Dynamite Entertainment comic series Nancy Drew & The Hardy Boys: The Big Lie written by Anthony Del Col, with art by Werther Dell'Ederra is released tomorrow. In this continuation of the hardboiled noir series Nancy Drew has just discovered her father, Carson Drew, may have murdered Fenton Hardy, Joe and Frank Hardy's father. And then something even scarier will happen.
She's already cleared the Hardy Boys of doing the same — but as a result, fingered her own father!
This is the final issue of the first The Big Lie arc and though we discover if Carson Drew is really the murderer, there's plenty of story left to tell. The creative team are currently in the process of putting together our the first trade paperback collection for a November release, and making plans for the second arc (to be released in 2018).
