'Dara O Briain's Go 8 Bit', A New TV Panel Show On Gaming Starts On Monday
This Monday on British TV channel Dave, Dara O Briain launches his new TV panel show Go 8 Bit, a six-part celebration of gaming.
Each week, host and gaming enthusiast O Briain will preside over two team captains – gaming geek Steve McNeil and gaming cynic Sam Pamphilon – to battle each other at their favourite computer games. The first episode sees former England goalkeeper David James square off against comedian and writer Susan Calman, and the incredibly competitive results – including a marathon bout of Tekken.
Also appearing across the series – and with varying degrees of gaming knowledge and competency – are Bob Mortimer, Dave Gorman, Marcus Brigstocke, Gina Yashere, Ed Byrne, Josie Long and Holly Walsh.
With resident gaming expert Ellie Gibson overseeing the action each week, games featured in Dara O Briain's Go 8 Bit include Star Wars Battlefront or Temple Run, and back to Pong and Tetris. Each contestant also chooses their own favourite game including much-loved franchises such as Sonic and the FIFA series to singular titles like Nidhogg and Chuckie Egg.
And in the final round of every episode,Dara O Briain's Go 8 Bit takes the game away from the controller for supersized, physical versions of video game classics.
Dara O Briain's Go 8 Bit is produced by DLT Entertainment and starts Monday 5th September on Dave.
