AppleWatch: Could Apple's puritanism save the direct comics market after all? Apple is keeping a keen eye on content issues over iPhone and presumably iPad apps. And considering the nature of some items they're deleting are no more explicit than an issue of Power Girl… well. Looks like comic shops may well become an exclusive cheesecake haven. And if exisiting comic books want to get on these devices, they'll have to cover up. No wonder those nineteen sixties comics from Marvel have been so prominent on digital services, they weren't quite as cleavage/butt-shot obsessed…
GraphicNovelWatch: The Next Day is an upcoming work of graphic non-fiction work but togetehr by Alex Jensen, following the lives of survivors of suicide attempts. Published by Pop Sandbox as a graphic novel, it will also have photographic and video elements that will spin out of the book.
This will follow the same team's upcoming project Kenk, about Igor Kenk, the world's most prolific bicycle thief.
GraphicNovelWatch2:Dark Horse will be publishing Evelyn Evelyn, the graphic novel about a pair of performing conjoined twins created by Amanda Palmer and Jason Webley. The book, illustrated by Cynthi Von Buhler, will accompany an album and tour of the same name. And naturally there's just a leeetle bit of controversy over the concept.
