Geoff Beckett Of Shocker Toys Tries To Take Down Website

At the weekend, Bleeding Cool pointed out that Tony Robles was claiming on his website that controversial head of Shocker Toys, Geoff Beckett, owed him a thousand dollars. Geoff did not return emails from Bleeding Cool.

Since then, however, the case took a different spin. Rather than pay Tony or try to come to some kind of agreement, Geoff contacted Tony's domain server to get his website taken down.

Geoff complained about;

Defaming and libel actions by a work for hire who has used your servers to attack our credibility and cause our business harm through his fictional comments. He has also threatened to sue us commented on the this same blog post while defaming us and restricting our trade while not discussing any terms with us or our council. He is also using the protected names of the TIA for the "Toy Fair" show and San Diego Comic Con's protected names in the same blog. This is unprofessional and if needed to be handled in court should not be plastered on a website to cause more harm to both parties therefore it only is right to have it removed.

Not being able to mention San Diego Comic Con or Toy Fair? Wow. Then I'm really in trouble.

He then claims that images of Shocker Toys violated the rights of clients, including those of Mike Allred and Captain Action, which is also not true. And that photos of the toys were taken at "a trade show where no photographs were allowed unless noted" which, again, is also not true.

Of course he does rather have form regarding ludicrous legal threats…
