Mark Millar And Dave Gibbons To Create New Comic – Respectfully We Informed You Of This Event At An Earlier Juncture Eighteen Months Ago – And So Did Mark

It is big news. It is so big that I used it to launch the Bleeding Cool side back in June 2009. But, yes, Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons are collaborating on a new comic book. That's Mark Millar's big comics news for today, and we had a good guess at it at the weekend too.

As to why it is big news, well it is so easy to say "From the co-creator of Watchmen and the co-creator of Wanted/Kick Ass" and, purely in terms of money, that's a massive impact. Expect people to pay lots of it to option whatever it is, possibly sight unseen,

Because, typically, there are no actual details of the book. They will all be saved for a future date, the weekend of the Kapow Comic Con, to string an announcement into several in an attempt to game various websites and news organisations to give the book several bites of the publicity cherry rather than just shooting their load in one gloop, and also to provide Kapow with guaranteed worldwide publicity when the comic is revealed.

And it works.

What was the visual we used for the announcement last year? Oh yes, this one. Still works.
