Poor Alfred Pennyworth. After decades of service, Alfred was used as the latest "shocking character death" in comics to make a storyline feel more "important." And all he gets as a reward is a five-dollar one-shot? One in which he doesn't even get top billing in the title?! Here's a preview of Batman: Pennyworth RIP #1.

The preview opens with the dedication of a new children's hospital in Alfred's name.

With a speech by a sad Bruce Wayne…

And the Bat-Family assembled, right there in public… which make it no surprise that secret identities aren't what they used to be.
