The Potted Harry Potter – Bluewater To Publish JK Rowling Biographical Comic

rowlingAs part of their Female Force line of comic biographies, which recently swerved from political figures such Hillary Clinton to Oprah Winfrey, Twilight author and Stephanie Meyer. And now their latest pick is the Scottish author of the Harry Potter novels, JK Rowling (as if I actually have to tell you).

The biography, to be published next year, will be written by Adam Gragg, author of Bluewater's 10th Muse, and drawn by Matt Flyer, artist on Bluewater's Political Power: Colin Powell.

JK Rowling has been very protective of use of her brand name and characters, so it will interesting to see how Bluewater tread the legal line.

It's not long ago that Diamond were less willing to distribute biographical comics because of the possible legal issues, though current contracts indemnify them against any action.

It also appears that the extended Stephanie Myer comic and the JK Rowling comic will be collected together in a forthcoming trade paperback.
