You've been very, very good children, definitely on Santa's Nice List and now, finally, you get Justice Society Of America #8. Or at least you do tomorrow, from Geoff Johns and Mikel Janin, written before Johns went exclusive with Ghost Machine through Image Comics. And that means Ruby Sokov, daughter of the Golden Age Red Lantern. Who was born in 1951 with a direct connection to the Crimson Flame that empowers her father, turning her into a "living power ring". Her father saved her from being vivisected by Russian scientists, before both disappeared. But in a possible future, Ruby was recruited by Helena Wayne to join the Justice Society.
Tomorrow's Justice Society Of America #8, also sees the hunt for another child, who may have gone a little off the rails.
Harlequin's Son, Michael Mayne, is the son of the Molly Mayne version of Harlequin (father unknown). In his twenties, he used his mother's weapons to attack a gay bar on the hunt of those who put him in the hospital, while as an actor starred in the film Dusk Before Dawn where he played the actor Carver Colman, who played Nathaniel Dusk in Doomsday Clock. A turducken of a connection, there. Since then, he has specialized in beating up and branded the faces of gay men who domestically abuse their partners, with diamond-shaped tattoos around their eyes. Just as his other used to do with men who abused wives and girlfriends… Who will weigh in first, Alan Scott or the Spectre?
While, regarding Ruby Sokov, it is revealed that maybe, just maybe, the Russians had a point. Justice Society Of America #8 is published tomorrow.
