The Orville Team Offers Fans A Very Cool Season 3 Production Gift

If you're a fan of Seth MacFarlane and Hulu's The Orville then you were probably feeling pretty happy & hopeful about what Jordan Helman, head of scripted originals for the streamer, had to say about not just the third season but also the show's future (more on that in a minute). With filming on Season 3 looking to be wrapping pretty soon, editor & co-producer (and soon-to-be series star) Tom Costantino and the fine folks are offering fans a very cool gift for all of their support and patience over the course of the series' run. So remember those "I Survived 3 Years" and "Kaylon Pit Crew" production stickers you've seen posted online? Well, apparently a whole lot of you saw them and fell in love with them. So Costantino took to Instagram to offer the designs to download for free (and to thank the folks who made it happen). Here's a look at the two designs:

"The past year and a half has been complicated for a variety of levels as it pertains to production. I can't share a launch date, but we're really excited about what we've seen thus far," Helman told Deadline Hollywood earlier (while also confirming that MacFarlane and Jon Cassar would be directing episodes). As for where the future of the popular sci-fi series may go from here, Helman is keeping all options on the table as the "future of the show remains an open conversation and there have been no conversations otherwise." In fact, Helman sees the third season as having the potential the grow the series' fanbase even further. "I believe the fans of the show that are coming to us from Fox will be deeply excited and satiated. I also think for new fans that maybe didn't experience it, it will feel new to them," he explained. Here's a look at Costantino's post late Friday/early Saturday offering the sweet free swag (and for those of you looking to download your open copies, head on over to here):

With the series having been hit by COVID-related delays much like dozens of other productions, things had been quiet with The Orville for some time before the good news began flowing again. During an Instagram chat in September 2020 with Jessica Szohr (Lt. Talla Keyali), MacFarlane offered viewers an update. "All I can say is we are working on it. We're working on it very hard, we got hit by this just like everyone else but we're working on it," MacFarlane explained at that time. "We will be back soon, folks. There has been a lot of speculation online: Will the show come back? The show is still a huge priority for me and for the cast and everyone else. We do have a season to finish, and we are going to finish it." For MacFarlane, it all comes down to safety first and foremost. "For a show with a lot of prosthetic makeup that requires close contact, a lot of background artists… it's a big job, and you want to make sure you do it in a way that keeps everyone safe and secure," he explained. "Once we have those protocols figured out, we will start up again and you will get more Orville."
