Superman Collection Thief Collects Six Years

Superman Collection Thief Collects Six Years We mentioned this morning how disabled Superman fan Mike Meyer got to visit the home of Superman co-creator Jerry Siegel, thanks to the generousity of those who felt moved by his plight – a man who had his Superman collection conned from him by another he thought his friend.

That friend Gerry Armbruster, was sentenced to six years after pleading guilty today to the theft of Meyer's collection, as well as the assault on an elderly man who has hired him to clean up a vacant lot.

Meyer became a cause celebre for his loss, as many pitched in to help replace his collection. But in the end, much of it was retrieived, when Gerry was caught carrying out the second crime.
