The PlayStation Nintendo Is Real And It Works
So remember that PlayStation Nintendo I wrote about a few months ago? Long story short, Sony and Nintendo at one point were meant to collaborate on a console, that had both cartridge and disc based games. It was rumoured there were prototypes in the wild, and one seemingly turned up in someone's attic a little while ago. There were certainly a lot of skeptics though, and last I heard, it seemed as if it might actually be fake.
Well, It seems that the console is in fact legitimate, which is pretty cool . The owners Terry and Dan Diebold were at at a retro gaming expo recently in Hong Kong and Engadget caught up with them to see it in action
The report and interview are fascinating, which has the console playing a cartridge version of Super Bomberman 5.The CD drive is currently dormant though, but it is noted that it is currently be looked into. The theory is that it might be able to play original PlayStation games, if so.
This is an awesome bit of gaming history and I really hope it is looked after and documented. This could be one of a kind remnant of an alternate universe we were so close to. Amazing stuff.
