Capcom On Street Fighter V Missing Content: "We Underestimated The Popularity Of Some Single Player Features"

By most accounts, Street Fighter V is an excellent fighting game. I've heard so much about the mechanics of the title and how they have pleased fans of the series.

I have certainly also heard a lot about how much the game is missing. When the game launched, it was without many features, like a competent tutorial as well as lots of single player features, all of which is being patched in later. That isn't lost on executive producer Yoshinori Ono, who when speaking to Game Informer said he recognised the failings:

I think it's safe to say that we underestimated the popularity of some of the single-player features. That said, we are excited about the two all-new single-player modes–character story and survival–and we have plans to continue to refine and expand onto those experiences.

As we've stated in the past, Street Fighter V is an evolving platform that will continue to get more refined and built upon over time. For us, this is a marathon and not a sprint, and we appreciate all of the words of support as we embark on this journey together.

I can understand this on principle, but in reality, the game probably should have had these rather core modes from the beginning for my money. Still, at least this is an acknowledgement. I suppose that counts for something.
