DC Comics To Reprint Each Issue Of Watchmen In Hardcover, And As A Box Set. Yes, Really.
Okay, am I the only one who thinks this is really weird? DC Comics are to republish each issue of Watchmen by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons in an individual hardcover format, and in a box set.
And charge you $125 for the privilege.
The Watchmen Collector's Edition Box Set.
You're not getting any extras that you'd get in the Absolute Edition.
And for the same amount you could buy the originals off of eBay.
It ships on November 16th. Whatever my feelings of weirdness, I can see this being a strong pre-Christmas seller. do I detect the heavy hands of SVP Sales – John Cunningham on this project?
Oh and this is how DC Comics are selling Watchmen these days.
WATCHMEN begins with the paranoid delusions of a half-insane hero called Rorschach. But is Rorschach really insane-or has he in fact uncovered a plot to murder super-heroes and, even worse, millions of innocent civilians? On the run from the law, Rorschach reunites with his former teammates in a desperate attempt to save the world and their lives, but what they uncover will shock them to their very core and change the face of the planet!
I don't know, that description reminds me of this…
And just like that film, you could if you wish, start off with the black-and-white version, also out in November, Watchmen Noir.
