The conservative Christian slogan "God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve" first appeared, on a protest sign in 1977, in a rally in Houston.

Usually simplified to "It's Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve", it has appeared in a few other places since, courtesy of Jerry Falwell and the like.
