FanfaireNYC Returns to Manhattan, Brings Art Spiegelman and Neal Adams
The High School of Art and Design in Manhattan, New York City was founded in 1936 and its current location is on 56th Street, between Second and Third Avenues. And in a week-and-a-bit is the host to FanfaireNYC, a two-day comic art convention returning for its second show, which celebrates creativity, entrepreneurship, and technology in the arts from cartooning and animation to architecture and fashion,
The school includes amongst its alumni Art Spiegelman, Pulitzer Prize winning author/illustrator of Maus, and Neal Adams, renowned comic book artist of Batman, Avengers, and X-Men, and both will be attending the event on February 16th and 17th, as two of 125 exhibiting artists and vendors as well as guest speakers who will offer lectures about their careers and artistic processes and conduct workshops and portfolio reviews.
Neal Adams tells Bleeding Cool 'Art and Design has pumped out artists, designers, actors, and musicians for over 80 years with an alumnus which proliferate the art medium from coast to coast. Alumni or not, you owe it to yourself to join us on February 16 and 17 for a great celebration, and an opportunity to meet artists, alums and…well, if you like, Neal Adams too.'

Additional confirmed participants include alumni game designer Stefan Pokorny, comic creator Larry Hama, Archie editor/writer Jamie Rotande and FX artist Michael Maddi. There will also be a cosplay contest, raffles, and artist commissions.
Sponsors of the event include Blick Art Materials, Appel Farm Arts Camp, Neal Adams Gallery, Duggal, Midtown Comics, the Kubert School, Microsoft, and Apple, and who will be providing workshops and interactive exhibits for attendees, as well as support and resources.
