J. Scott Campbell Homages Classic X-Men With 6 Uncanny Variant Covers
J. Scott Campbell has revealed six variants for Uncanny X-Men #1 that will be sold exclusively on the J. Scott Campbell web store. Campbell's variants are inspired by classic X-Men covers or classic takes on X-Men characters. Such as this one featuring Wolverine and Professor X:
This one homaging the cover to Uncanny X-Men #137:
Or this one inspired by Giant-Size X-Men #1:
Or this one, uh, paying tribute to Psylocke's butt and boobs we guess, plus Archangel's classic look:
Or this one featuring everyone's favorite married mutants:
And finally, this one with classic designs for Beast and Kitty Pryde:
If you want to get your hands on any of these, you'll have to head to Campbell's web store and join the waiting list, as there will be limited print runs.
And in case you were wondering, yes, this means we can count J. Scott Campbell on the side of drawing feet in the Uncanny X-Men cover war, joining Cliff Chiang, Dave Cockrum, Jen Bartel, Elizabeth Torque, Leinil Francis Yu, Carlos Pacheco, David Finch, Skottie Young, and Mark Brooks. On the quickly becoming outmatched "no feet" side: David Marquez, Rob Liefeld (shocker!), John Tyler Christopher, Scott Williams, Marco Djurdjevic, Joe Quesada, Jim Cheung, and Yu again, who drew multiple covers, some with feet and some without.
