Marvel Studios Exec Teases Female-Focused Guardians Of The Galaxy Movie at Women Of Marvel SDCC Panel

Courtesy of Bleeding Cool reporter Madeline Potts at the Women Of Marvel panel at San Diego Comic-Con…

The panel gave the first look (and some old looks) at recent comic books published by Marvel Comics with female-centric relevance, such as Fearless, Captain Marvel and The Amazing Mary Jane, announced yesterday – as well as how it ties into Amazing Spider-Man #26.

But it was Victoria Alonso, who most set the room alight. She is Executive vice president of production at Marvel Studios and she was hinting about how tonight will be a huge night for Women Of Marvel. We know she's talking about the Marvel Phase 4 announcements at Hall H of course. But what movie could she be talking about? Captain Marvel 2? Ms Marvel? She-Hulk? Spider-Woman? Squirrel Girl?

And then she sang a line from 'Hooked On A Feeling'. he song most associated in the Marvel Universe with Guardians Of The Galaxy. We are expecting Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 3 to be announced – but what might be specifically relevant to a female audience, aside from the usual?

Could it be a spin-off movie? A solo endeavour for Gamora or Nebula? Could it be the introduction of Angela? What about Sera?

Place your bets folks, we won't have long to speculate…
