Mystery Science Theater 3000 Gets a Comic Book from Dark Horse in September

We're not quite sure exactly how this will work, but popular movie riffing phenomenon Mystery Science Theater 3000 is coming to comics, courtesy of a new series at Dark Horse by series creator Joel Hodgson. The description, provided via press release, is brief:

Mystery Science Theater 3000, The Comic finds Jonah Heston, Crow T. Robot, Tom Servo, and Gypsy thrust into the 2-D world of public domain comics, with riffing as their only defense! But trust us, these comics have it coming.

The comic comes with a variant cover by longtime MST3K DVD artist Steve Vance (and more variants in the future). Little else is known besides that.

A six-issue mini-series, Mystery Science Theater 3000, The Comic #1 hits stores on September 9th. Check out the covers below.
