Speculator Corner: Wizard 1998 Marvel Knights Special, Yelena Belova and Florence Pugh

We mentioned the other day that there was some very pure comic book speculation around the first appearance of Yelena Belova, the second Black Widow will debut in the new Black Widow movie. The suggestion is that the character will be played by Florence Pugh.

And prices have been rising in the last month.

With people speculating on her first appearance in Marvel Knights: Inhumans #5 by Paul Jenkins and Jae Lee as well as the cover-featured Black Widow Marvel Knights #1. Created by Devin Grayson and J.G. Jones, the character was trained as a spy and assassin in the Red Room and initially a foe of Natasha Romanova, the original Black Widow, until they later became allies. As a result, copies of Inhumans #5 have sold for up to $78,  though you can pick one up here for $40 while that Black Widow #1 sells for up to $55, with the Dynamic Forces Yelena cover going for up to $65.

And of course, she may not even be in the Black Widow movie at all. Right now, it's all just… speculation. And there's a new girl in town.

The Wizard Special Edition for 1998 sits between Inhumans #5 and Black Widow #1 – and may count as her first non-shadowy appearance.

People have been picking copies up from $1 to $7 on eBay… and someone is asking $15 for a copy

Of course, this all depends on whether or not she's even the film…
