Mobile developer and publisher PlayDucky has added the new highly-anticipated update to Melon Sandbox, as things get heated with two new lava levels. As you can see here, they have added a new Volcano map, as well as a Lava Pool, both of which have their own physics when dealing with the heat and the liquid hot magma waiting to kill you. These assets have also been added to the Sandbox system for those who like to make their own maps and sell them on the mobile app. We have more details about the update below, as it is available right now.

This Get Headed With New Melon Sandbox's New Lava Maps
In response to overwhelming requests from the community, players can finally put their sprites to the test on the highly anticipated lava maps! Experiment with a variety of 'hot' new features to cause more explosive chaos. Try to overcome flimsy physics and reach the top of the new volcano map, but be mindful of lava bombs that may hinder your ascent. The lava's high heat and density will slowly impact your items, so watch vehicles and artillery sizzle and incinerate before your eyes. Be mindful of flyovers, as well, that may be affected by the scorching smoke rising from the crater. On the lava pool map, certain items won't survive the high temperatures, so be strategic with your materials if you want to make it across. Instead, try flinging enemy sprites into the pit and watch them ignite.
Make Mods & Sell Them
Unleash your red-hot creativity in Melon Sandbox's Editor, where players can create unique experiences to share with the community. Today's update introduces lava tiles, and players can use them–alongside other environmental tiles such as water and acid–to create custom maps. When your build is ready, publish it to the game's storefront, where users can exchange Mells, in-game currency, to purchase your mod. Creators receive payouts with every mod download; in 2025, PlayDucky paid over $1M USD to its creators, establishing itself as one of the largest UGC cash-out systems in mobile gaming.
