Popular Skyrim Mod Forgotten City Reimagined as Standalone Game; Watch the E3 Trailer
Popular Skyrim mod Forgotten City will be released as a standalone game in 2019, as revealed by Modern Storyteller at the PC Gaming Show at E3 today (follow our liveblog here). But if you've already played the mod, you'll still get to experience new content like a brand new city, reimagined characters, original lore with "fresh twists and endings," added gameplay mechanics like wall climbing, new combat mechanics, a new score, professional voice acting, and motion capture animations, according to the game's website.
Here's the game's official description:
A TIME TRAVEL MURDER MYSTERY SET IN A MYTHOLOGICAL CITY
Deep underground in an ancient Roman city, twenty-six trapped explorers lay dead because one of them broke a mysterious law. Within, a portal leads back into the past, allowing you to change their fate – or witness their deaths in a time loop for eternity.
Fortunately, hope remains. The Forgotten City® offers incredible freedom, inviting players to manipulate the timeline, Groundhog Day-style, so events play out differently. By talking to diverse characters, making tough choices in moral dilemmas, and thinking laterally, you can unlock vastly different endings.
The Forgotten City® is a re-imagining of the critically acclaimed mod, downloaded by more than 1.6 million gamers, and the first in history to win a national Writers' Guild award.
