Kevin Feige Teases a "Pretty Amazing" Sequel to Captain Marvel
We're still a few days away from the release of Captain Marvel but despite the fact that only a handful of people have seen the movie everyone is already talking sequel. That's just the way the world is these days and there isn't much we can do about. Marvel is likely already looking at sequel ideas but they are waiting to say anything definitive until the box office numbers roll in next Monday. Until then we only have speculation and some vague hints from Kevin Feige to Screen Rant
"The making of a first film is in some ways a brainstorm on the future and on what can be. So what it will be again is not clear. But what it could be is pretty amazing."
That isn't much to go on but there is still plenty of time to figure out where Carol is going to fit in the next phase of the Marvel Universe. How much of a role she plays Avengers: Endgame will be telling but Ant-Man was a modest hit for Marvel and that got a sequel. Unless Captain Marvel bombs we should expect a sequel to come along at some point.
Summary: Carol Danvers becomes one of the universe's most powerful heroes when Earth is caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races.
Captain Marvel, directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, will also star Brie Larson, Jude Law, Gemma Chan, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace, Lashana Lynch, Samuel L. Jackson. The film is set for release on March 8th, 2019.
