Gael Garcia Bernal and Lola Kirke Recap Mozart in the Jungle Season 3
I was introduced to Mozart in the Jungle by a friend of mine just as the second season debuted. I decided I would try an episode out at around 9 p.m. one night… I proceed to watch both seasons straight through. Luckily they are 30-minute episodes, so the 20 shows only took me 10 or so hours to watch. The series crosses between comedy and drama and was created by Roman Coppola, Jason Schwartzman, and Alex Timbers. The first season debuted in December of 2014 with a fourth season about to premiere on February 16th.
It's inspired by the 2005 novel Mozart in the Jungle: Sex, Drugs and Classical Music by Blair Tindall, an oboist writing about her career in New York playing with the New York Philharmonic and for numerous Broadway Shows. The series stars Gael Garcia Bernal as Rodrigo, a young and in-demand conductor based on Gustavo Dudamel. Lola Kirke plays Hailey the Tindall character. It also stars Malcolm McDowell, Saffron Burrows, Hannah Dunne, Peter Vack and Bernadette Peters.
With the fourth season debuting soon, Amazon Prime has released a video with Bernal and Kirke recapping season three. The new season takes a turn as Hailey has taken up conducting and Masi Oka (Heroes, Hawaii Five-O) joins the cast.
Mozart in the Jungle returns for season four on February 16th to Amazon Prime.
