CBS Airing 'The Good Fight' Season 1 Starting June 2019; 'Instinct' Season 2 Delayed
CBS is looking to its own backyard for a Sunday summer programming boost, with CBS Corp acting CEO Joe Ianniello announcing on Wednesday during a shareholders metting that the network will air the entire first season of CBS All Access' The Good Fight starting June 16. Up until now, the Christine Baranski-starring The Good Wife spinoff from creators Robert King and Michelle King was only available on the streaming service. This isn't the first time CBS engaged in a little "content sharing": in September 2017, the network aired the premiere of CBS All Access series Star Trek: Discovery.
With The Good Fight setting up shop on Sunday nights (with a little "language clean-up" necessary) starting mid-June, the second season premiere of Instinct has been delayed two weeks – pushing back airing until Sunday, June 30, at 9 p.m.
"For three seasons, The Good Fight has been a big success for CBS All Access. We're excited to provide our network audience the opportunity to catch up with characters they first fell in love with on The Good Wife, as well as introduce new viewers to this outstanding, critically acclaimed drama."
– Kelly Kahl, President-Entertainment, CBS
The first two episodes The Good Fight will air back-to-back on starting at 9 p.m. on Sunday, June 16, with the following two episodes airing in the same slot the following Sunday. When Instinct premieres at the end of June, The Good Fight will shift to the 10 pm. slot.
The world went crazy in the THE GOOD FIGHT's second season, and now, in season three, the resistance does. Diane Lockhart (Christine Baranski) tries to figure out whether you can resist a crazy administration without going crazy yourself, while Adrian Boseman (Delroy Lindo) and Liz Reddick-Lawrence (Audra McDonald) struggle with a new post-factual world where the lawyer who tells the best story triumphs over the lawyer with the best facts. Meanwhile, Lucca Quinn (Cush Jumbo) balances a new baby with a new love, and Maia Rindell (Rose Leslie) finds a new Mephistopheles in Roland Blum (Michael Sheen), a lawyer who is corruption incarnate.
Created by Robert King and Michelle King and Phil Alden Robinson, The Good Fight is executive produced by Robert and Michelle King, Ridley Scott, David W. Zucker, Liz Glotzer, Brooke Kennedy, and William Finkelstein. The series is produced by CBS Television Studios in association with Scott Free Productions and King Size Productions. The series is distributed worldwide by CBS Studios International.
