Challenge fate with Dolph Lundgren as he flips a coin for a 12-episode series. Is it odd or flipping fantastic? You decide.

Even though it seems to be exactly what it says it is, we still have so many questions about Flip a Cöin, an upcoming unscripted series from Ryan Reynolds' Maximum Effort in partnership with Fubo TV.  Mostly, it's unclear how the stated 21 coin flips per episode will fill out a 30-minute show.  Does Dolph Lundgren discuss the results of each flip after he makes it?  Will he be able to keep this up for the 12-episode run of this series?  And perhaps most importantly, what will happen if the series makes it to season two?

Here's everything we know for now: Maximum Effort Channel, courtesy of Ryan Reynolds' quirky production touch in partnership with Fubo, just dropped an amusingly weird trailer for its latest unscripted series, Flip a Cöin. The title leaves little to the imagination, and the content of this trailer seems to firmly double down on its literal promise—it's Dolph Lundgren and the fickle fate of a coin in a fateful 12-episode run. Launching on January 17th at 9:30 p.m. ET, Flip a Cöin promises to serve up a weekly dose of Lundgren in coin-tossing action.  The series also features actress Malin Ackerman – Silk Spectre from Zack Snyder's 2009 Watchmen film.

"Yes, I am in this show. I don't quite understand why, but they tell me it will be huge in Sweden, so it must be great. Nu kör vi!," said Flip a Cöin star Lundgren. "This is a dream come true. I've loved flipping coins since I was a little kid."

Maximum Effort Co-Founder and Flip a Cöin Executive Producer George Dewey added, "This show was crafted for people who love Dolph Lundgren and Malin Ackerman or people who love Swedish things or people who enjoy placing wagers, a gentleman's or otherwise, as they watch television. We figured that pretty much covered everyone, but to be honest, we never really focus-grouped it."

In what appears to be an ingenious blend of meditative and comical viewing, Swedish muscleman Lundgren teams up with the elegant tones of fellow Swede Åckerman in a narration that's sure to add a layer of Scandinavian allure. The actor himself seems bemused but game, "I don't quite understand why, but they tell me it will be huge in Sweden, so it must be great. Nu kör vi!" Lundgren mused in a statement, his childhood passion for coin flipping finally getting its spotlight.

The series will be available on Fubo TV and an array of other streaming services, including Amazon Freevee, LG Channels, Plex, Sling Freestream, Tubi, VIDAA, VIZIO Watchfree+, and Xumo Play.  A glance at the Maximum Effort Channel on Tubi reveals that the channel is a mix of classics like Mad TV, ALF, and The Carol Burnett Show alongside Bruce Campbell's dystopian lost culture series Discontinued.  In other words, it's all very on-brand Ryan Reynolds, and Flip a Cöin will fit right in there.
