James Wan to Direct MillarWorld 'The Magic Order' Pilot at Netflix, Lindsey Beer Showrunning

The Magic Order will be the next Mark Millar project set up at Netflix, with Lindsey Beer serving as showrunner and James Wan coming on as an executive producer. He will also direct the first episode of the series. Millar will also be an executive producer. Netflix of course owns the MillarWorld comics imprint, and The Magic Order was the first comic published after the acquisition.

The Magic Order #1

The series follows five families of magicians that protect the world, but a sinister force is picking them off one by one. Violent and snarky, it has been a modest hit with comic readers and features stellar art by the always great Olivier Coipel. Beer is best known for her Netflix feature Sierra Burgess is a Loser starring Stranger Things fan-favorite Shannon Purser. Wan has man irons in the fire, including producing the DC series Swamp Thing, along with new entries into the Conjuring universe, the nest of which is Annabelle Comes Home, opening in June. He is also spinning up a sequel to last years Aquaman. He previously directed for television as well, helming an episode of the MacGyver reboot.

No date, cast info, or anything of the sort is known at this time.
