Today's Uncanny X-Men Retcons Entire X-Men History. Again.
No it's not that there was a secret team between iterations of the X-Men. No, it's not that the Danger Room was a suppressed sentient being. No it's not that Xavier had a twin who died at birth. No it's not the involvement of Sinister. Or that Xavier had used Wolverine as a spy previous to his arrival at the mansion.
No, today's big revelation is that in the early days of the X-Men, Charles Xavier met another mutant. Quite a powerful one. Called Matthew Malloy.
Basically we're talking a "cornfield" level mutant. And he did a thing, to protect the world and teh reputation of mutantkind. He… turned him off.
But, as he said, he would keep an eye on him. Make sure he was okay, and that his tremendous power was kept at bay.
But that does mean a significant rewriting of all sort of scenes from past issues of the X-Men. Can I have a go?
Matthew Malloy, folks. Start taking your pen and paper to your back issues… now!
