Hot Topic Star Wars #1 Pulped And Reprinted Without Avengers Movie Spoiler
Earlier this week, Bleeding Cool reported that the Hot Topic exclusive cover for Marvel's comic book relaunch of Star Wars #1, which they had been selling instore and online for $3.99, had been withdrawn from sale. Initially to be sold at a later date, then store managers were asked to destroy them. We have now been informed that the comic will now be reprinted and reissued without the offending Funko ad below, which apparently is a spoiler for the Avengers: Age Of Ultron movie.
I'm guessing it has to be the colour design for the Vision?
Which of course will make the first print with the ad far more collectable. When we ran the story, copies were selling north of $30, now they have rocketed, selling for $200 or more…
Of course, because the comics are sealed in a bag, you won't know which version is which unless you open the bag – instantly reducing their value. But copies that are CGC slabbed and dated now, before the reprint is issued, are guaranteed to be the real deal…
And, to reiterate, if no one had said a thing, no one would ever have thought this was a spoiler for anything..
